“I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.”

Lent is a season of 40 days from Ash Wednesday up to Easter Sunday where we prepare ourselves for the mysteries and joy of Easter. At St. Elizabeth’s we mark Lent in many different ways, and this year will be no different. Some of our usual traditions have been modified due to COVID-19, but we hope that you are able to journey with us through this sacred season as we prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter.

Lent in a Bag: At-Home Lenten resources.
Since we are not able to gather physically for Lent this year, the church is coming to you! Sign up to participate in Lent in a Bag and you will receive a kit full of at-home intergenerational Lenten resources for you to be able to fully participate in Lent from home! Also included will be ashes and communion for Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday: February 17th
- Join us at Noon and at 5:00 pm for Ashes to Go outside of the church. Fr. Brett will impose ashes on you while maintaining proper COVID-19 protocols. Masks required.
- 7:00 pm Ash Wednesday Eucharist live streamed on our Facebook Page.

Lenten Adult Education: What is Prayer?
Our Adult Ed. for Lent will focus on prayer and give participants the opportunity to try many different forms of prayer. You will hopefully come away from this course with a better understanding of prayer and some tools to add to your spiritual toolbox.
This class will be led by Fr. Brett and will meet on Zoom Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.

Indoor and Outdoor Stations of the Cross
Praying the Stations of the Cross has been a Lenten tradition at St. Elizabeth’s for years. The Daughters of the King have traditionally led the Stations of the Cross indoors using the beautifully hand painted stations lining the walls of the nave.
This year, we hope to offer indoor Stations of the Cross as well as a new Outdoor Stations of the Cross along our outdoor walking path. Stay tuned for more information!
